NDCTWS Student Liaison: Bethany Roberton
We were fortunate enough to acquire not one, but two Student Liaisons for the coming year. These students serve on the executive board, attend board meetings, contact Student Chapter advisors and officers about upcoming chapter news and events, advocate for North Dakota TWS Student Chapters and student membership and much more!
Meet our NDSU-based student liaison: Bethany Roberton
Bethany moved to North Dakota in May of 2021 after receiving her MS degree in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and Biodiversity at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. She is now pursuing her PhD in Entomology under Dr. Jason Harmon at NDSU. Her research involves examining bee community structure and plant reward quality under different grazing regimes. Outside of being a member of NDCTWS, Bethany also serves as a member of the Entomological Society of America’s North Central Branch Student Affairs Committee and NDSU’s Women in Natural Resource Science group. Following her degree, Bethany hopes to work in insect conservation for a non-profit organization or as a professor in an R1 university. She is looking forward to trying to involve students in wildlife society activities as well as increase student membership during her time as a liaison for NDCTWS.
