2023 Awards - North Dakota Wildlife Habitat Award (Kevin Kading)
We're continuing to celebrate our award winners! Please join us in congratulating these well-deserving students and professionals.
Habitat Award: The North Dakota Wildlife Habitat Award is presented to an individual, or group that has made an outstanding contribution toward preserving, improving and/or establishing high quality wildlife habitat on the lands of North Dakota.
The 2023 winner of the ND Wildlife Habitat Award is Kevin Kading, Private Lands Section Leader of ND Game and Fish.
To quote from Kevin’s nomination letter,
"Kevin has been steadfastly dedicated to developing and improving wildlife habitat in our state for over 25 years. As the Private Lands Section Leader, Kevin oversees a multi-million-dollar annual budget and 12 staff who implement wildlife habitat and access programs across North Dakota. Under his leadership, our state has benefited from tens of thousands of acres of grass and CRP plantings, the development and growth of one of the largest habitat-based hunter access programs in the nation, and millions of dollars in financial support paid out annually to landowners for wildlife habitat improvements on private lands.”
It is easy to see that not only is Kevin eminently deserving of this award, but it is hard to imagine a more perfect match between his work and the intent of the award! Congratulation on this well-deserved honor, Kevin!
