Wildlife Conservation in Action

The Wildlife Conservation in Action Working Group is focused on active wildlife management and providing a voice for wildlife and wild places in North Dakota. A big part of this group is identifying ongoing projects and developments that may negatively impact wildlife and wildlife habitat. The membership needs to alert us of projects we should be weighing in on as you are our eyes and ears throughout the state. This includes, but is not limited to, energy development, urban development, wetland drainage, etc. This workgroup will also work with the Chapter’s lobbyist during each legislative session.

Membership Engagement

The Membership Engagement Working Group is focused on obtaining and keeping membership, actively interacting with and informing the membership with relevant updates, and providing and/or advertising ongoing opportunities and events. This workgroup plans membership drives, informs the membership through various outlets (i.e. email, website, social media), and provides/advertises professional development workshops, certifications, and events.

Applied Sciences

The Applied Sciences Working Group strives to empower our members to be the best wildlife managers and advocates they can be. This workgroup focuses on providing continuing education opportunities, sharing current and applicable research, and working with the engagement workgroups to provide workshops and trainings for Chapter members.

Student Engagement

The Student Engagement Working Group is focused on engagement from our current and future student membership. Students are the conservation leaders of tomorrow which makes it essential for the Chapter to provide opportunities and events catered to those pursuing a wildlife/natural resource career. This workgroup also manages the Chapter’s mentorship program and student tailored events (e.g. Careers in Wildlife series)
